Business Students Network at Brandywine Springs

If you were to walk into Mrs. Eva Foxwell’s 7th grade Business Education class at Brandywine Springs you might think you had walked into an actual networking event at a local business.  After spending the semester learning about such business related topics as effective communication, time management, sales and marketing and more, students organized a networking event to showcase what they had learned. Working in collaborative groups to create power point slides, students showcased their understanding of the business topics they had learned about during the semester.Brandywine

In addition to creating the presentation power point, students also coordinated other aspects of the business curriculum into a networking event that took place January 7th. Parents and BSS staff members were invited to attend the event to experience the culmination of the students’ efforts.

Based on the comments of students, staff and parents it was apparent that the networking event was successful for all those involved. Students included a slide about their “amazing” first year teacher Mrs. Foxwell. Their Brandywine Springscomments stated: “We have learned things from Mrs. Foxwell that we will carry with us for the rest of our life.Looking back in the beginning of the semester, we knew nothing. Now, because of Mrs. Foxwell we know more than we could have ever hoped.”

Mrs. Foxwell, who previously spent fourteen years working at MBNA as an Education Manager and 5 years as an Operations Manager at a local Insurance Company, has definitely brought the business curriculum to life for her students creating a learning experience that makes real world connections for the students she teaches each and every day. Congratulations to all for a job well done!
