Under State law, the Red Clay Consolidated School District will enroll children, who will be five years old by August 31st, in kindergarten in the same year.

If your child is five years old by August 31, 2010, now is the time to register for Kindergarten. Please register at your child’s assigned school.

Where can I go to register?
Registration takes place at the attendance zone school.
For parents wishing to Choice their student: Registration must take place at the attendance zone school prior to the Choice application being processed with the Choice Office.
Do I need to register and how soon can I register?
If your child is not currently attending a Red Clay School we encourage you to complete the registration process as soon as possible. School Offices are open year round; however, we do encourage you to contact the school office during the summer months due to vacation schedules.
What do I need to bring with me to register?
These requirements comply with State law and all Red Clay policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Your child's original birth certificate (with the raised State seal)
- Your child’s Social Security Number information
- Your child's immunization record (Click here for details)
- Your child's record of physical examination in the past 24 months
- Any custody paperwork
- Any IEP paperwork
- For grades K-8 students please bring the most recent student report card
- For grades 9-12, please provide transcripts.
- Your proof of residence: Before a student registers for school, proof of residence must be shown.
- If the student is a minor, then his/her residence is determined by the residence of his/her parent(s)/guardian(s); the parent(s)/guardian(s) must supply proof of residence.
- If the student is an adult and is acting on his/her own behalf in matters relating to school, then the student must supply proof of residence.
The following may be accepted as proof of residence:
The document you bring for proof of residence, must have your name and your physical address on the document. If your name is not on the document, please contact the school for further instructions.
- Rent receipt/on letterhead
- Lease agreement
- Purchase agreement/Deed
- Electric or gas bill
- Purchase agreement/Deed
- Family court documentation, which transfers guardianship of the student to someone at an address in the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
- For students placed in youth care facilities/halfway houses/foster sites/etc., proof of placement in the facility will constitute proof of residence so long as the facility is in the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
The following are unacceptable as proof of residence:
- Telephone, cable or other utility bill, bank statements, tax papers
- Drivers license/automobile registration
- Personal identification
- The petition to change guardianship will be honored only after the transfer has been made.
- Any other document NOT listed in section B
As has always been our practice, school officials will ensure compliance with these requirements to the extent of requesting notarized statements from the appropriate parties if a registration is in question.
Choice Program
If you decide to take advantage of the Choice Program, you can acquire an application at any Red Clay school at the time of registration, at the Red Clay District Office, or at the Choice Office. You must register at your attendance zone school before filling out a Choice application. Applications for good cause (changes in residence, daycare, or others included in the Choice legislation) may be submitted.
Applications must be submitted before the deadline to qualify for the Choice Lottery. Applications received after the deadline will be processed and placement made by current space available at the selected school(s).
